Planting Day, Old School Wood - 9th February
500 assorted trees and shrubs are to be planted and everyone is invited to come along and help. Bring a fork and spade if you can, and wear suitable (sturdy) footwear. The planting will take place from 2-4pm, and refreshments will be available in the church from 3pm. The wood is just on the left as you approach the church from the B1115.
Bygones Exhibition - 17th February
Organised by the Monks Eleigh Bygone Collectors Club, this exhibition takes place in Boxford Village Hall and is open from 10.30am to 5.00pm. There will also be a raffle and refreshments will be available.
Churchyard Working Party - Sat. 8rd March
This will take place between 9.30am and 12.00 noon, gardening gloves and stout footwear recommended.
MEBCC Bygone Collectors Rally - Sat/Sun 14th/15th June
Held on the Gt. Waldingfield Airfield, this is a very popular event for everyone. Vintage Tractors, Steam Engines, Vintage and Classic Cars and Motor Cycles, Collectors exhibitions, bygone sales, table-top sales, trade stands, craft stalls, charity stalls, animals, ring events, funfair and a fully licensed bar! Entertainment on the Saturday evening, camping space with hard standing and grass. Caravans welcome. Fun for all the family. From 10.30am-5.00pm daily. Acton Garden Club - Thurs. 9th October
The first in a new season of talks, demonstrations and visits, with Karen Kenny from Radio Suffolk. This will take place in Acton Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm
50/50 Auction Sale - Sat. 11th October
Held in the church, viewing starts at 11am and the sale gets underway at 2pm. No clothing, electrical items or large pieces of furniture. Please come along and have some fun, whilst supporting the church at the same time. Refreshments will be available all day.
Branchlines AGM - Weds. 15th October
Starting at 7.30pm in the Village Hall, there will be plenty of things to discuss, and you might well get a glass of wine and a crisp! All welcome.
Book Sale - Sat. 8th November
To be held in Acton church, this will be a sale of as-new paperbacks. Books can be left at the Vicarage or Acton church anytime after 14th September. The sale will start at 11am, the books will be categorised and prices will be reasonable!
