Planting Day, Old School Wood - Sat. 14th March
This is when we will be planting the final area which will fulfil our obligations to the Forestry Commission, whose grant paid for the trees. Everyone welcome, this will take place between 2pm and 4pm, gardening gloves and stout footwear recommended. Refreshments will be available after your exertions!
Old School Wood Working Days - Every 4th Sat. of the month
Between 9.30am and 12.00 noon, you are invited to come along and help, even if only for an hour. Join the regulars and get a bit of healthy exercise!
Quiz Night - Fri. 20th March
In aid of the First Friends Pre-School, there will be a quiz night in the school, commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets £5 (to include jacket potato supper), a bar will be available.
Russian Music Concert, St. Lawrence Church - Thurs. 2nd April 8.00pm
The Hermitage Ensemble - a professional ensemble of soloists from St. Petersburg - will present a programme of Russian sacred hymns and folk songs. Tickets £10 each - to include a ploughmans supper - available from the Post Office, or from Chris and Anne Francis (01787-370734)
Plant Sale - Sat. 9th May
Organised by the Friends of St. Lawrence Church, everyone is welcome to the Plant Sale, starting at 9.30am until 3.00pm
MEBCC 1940s Weekend - Sat/Sun 16th/17th May
Organised by the Monks Eleigh Bygones Collectors Club, to be held at New Farm, Cornard Tye, there will be exhibits and displays of 1940s equipment and memorabilia from 10.00am until 5.00pm daily, and a 1940s Dance on the Saturday evening from 8.00pm until midnight (tickets £5). Admission charges for the exhibition: OAPs and children £1.50, adults £2.50 (or £5 to include admission to the dance as well).
